Revenge of the the Sith Title Reaction
By KJ
July 28, 2004
It's difficult to describe exactly what I was feeling as I sat among 6,500
other fans at the Star Wars Spectacular presentation at Comic-Con
International July 24, 2004, moments before the title for Episode III,
Revenge
of the Sith, was revealed. The closest example
I can give you is take the feeling you have in the countdown before New
Years and multiply it by a thousand. Then you'll have a general idea
of how
I was feeling.
The announcement caught me
off guard. I would have never expected that the title would be
released at Comic-Con, and especially not
this early. Nevertheless, here I was, one of the first 6,500 people
in the world to discover the title of the final Star
Wars movie. I'm overjoyed and honored that I had the privilege
to be present during the title's unveiling. I was actually there.
It still hasn't sunk in yet.
Speaking of "not sunk in," I know I'm
not alone in saying that four days later, the title Revenge
of the Sith has a new car smell to me. It's so strange and unfamiliar,
and doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the trilogy. I know that
these sentiments will pass in time, but still.

For
the record I do, in fact, think that Revenge of the Sith is
a fitting name for the final installment
of the prequel trilogy. After all, the fall of Anakin, as well as
his (and Palpatine's) revenge on the Jedi and the Republic is what the
prequel
trilogy is all
about, just as much as the classic trilogy's purpose is to relate the
story of Luke's
destiny, Anakin's return to the light side, and the return of the Jedi
way of life.
So I guess the point I'm trying to get to is the Revenge of the
Sith title
is a winner in my book. Also, I'd have to say that, "I have
a good feeling about
this" movie. I'll wrap this baby up by saying here's to May 2005!
